Personally, I use to follow my instinct while doing keyword
research. I have been doing this for many years now and I'm good at it and it
has been the best way in which I do keyword research. But basically, there are
2 ways of doing this.
1. Think Like a User:
If you want to search for places to
grab a cup of coffee, how will you search for it? Basically, use that idea as
well and think, how will a user think if he is to search for my post, services
or products on search engines. Grab a note, a pen and write down whatever comes
into your mind. With this, you will potentially have a long list of of keywords
to use. Keep doing this and you will be a master at it. You can make use of
this site www.ubersuggest.org for assisting you in brainstorming as I do use it
to. It works.
2. Using Tools:

There are lot of keyword research tools
online. You can try making use of any of the following:
- · SEM Rush
- · Traffic Travis. This actually has 3 versions. The free version, $1 professional trial version and the professional version. You can try the free version first and if you seem interested in the other versions, you can go for it. The professional version costs $97. This is only for those that are doing a very huge research or using it to render services to customers. But if you are using it for personal use, you can use the free version or try the $1 professional trial version and feel the beat.
- · Scrapebox: This is a professional tool. This tool can be used for both white hat and black hat. It actually depends on how you use it. It is a great tool as well. But if you can handle it, I will advise you to stay away from it. This tool can handle virtually everything about SEO like creating backlinks, forum posting, keyword research (this is actually what we need it for in this post), article spinning and many more. It is a great tool though for those who can handle it. There are various videos on how to make use of this great tool if you are interested in it
My concern is actually to give you free tools that will
still work like the paid ones. Try the free tools to do your keyword research.
